Emma the Urb-Exer

 

Thumbnail: Journalism student using Michael to get a story. This is obvious to the reader, not so much to Michael. Into Urb-exing, and things something on Lowemouth might be her first publishable story. Just into Urb-exing because it's fashionable and she's after 'the guy that did it at Uni'. What is her redeeming feature????

Character Arc: 

Key Motivations/psychology: Struggling to build her own identity. Desperate, and just a bit grasping. Struggling to prove herself against environmental pressures/expectations ( 

Physical Description: Slender, brown hair bleached and henna'ed. Always wears red lipstick, brash and cannot be missed.

Backstory: Always 'the special one' at home, needing to mark herself out as still special, not realising that everyone is special. But she is under particular pressure from home to 'make it'. Her father didn't want her to come to university, so she needs to justify what she is doing. That makes her desperate, and just a bit grasping. She seizes on the hotel as a possible story, when she hears Michael talk abut it. 

Relationship to Others: In terms of the story, she is only connected to Michael. She met him at university - he facies her, she thinks she can do better than him. However, she has led him along a little to gain access to the hotel.
